Travel Health & Immunizations Clinic

What is a Travel Clinic?

We provide immunizations, medications, and travel health education for people traveling abroad to developing countries. By making sure you're up-to-date with your routine vaccinations & additional immunizations, you can protect yourself against infectious disease AND you'll prevent the spread of disease to other people in the community upon your return. Our Travel Health Pharmacist will create a travel health report for you that is specific to your destination, specific activities, current health status, and requirements for entry into that country. Not everyone's travel plans will be the same so let us go through your activities to make sure that we avoiding unnecessary medications and immunizations but also covering you from any additional health risks.

Who are we?

We are a Yellow Fever Certified Travel Clinic by the Georgia Department of Public Health approved by The World Health Organization (WHO), and recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

As a pharmacist-driven travel clinic, we provide travel health information, medications, and immunizations after a thorough assessment of your current -medications, health status, and travel destination requirements.  Our travel clinic can provide most any vaccination requested or required for travel.  Our patients have had wonderful experiences in North and South America, Africa, Australia, Europe and Asia. These vaccinations require more time and expertise than a regular pharmacy's flu clinic, so you cannot just walk in and receive your medications and immunizations, but we can definitely offer much more flexibility than other travel clinics.  We will work with your current primary care physician to fill all of your travel health needs.

Travel Health & Immunizations Services:

We provide immunization services against many infectious diseases to help keep the traveler healthy and others in the community safe upon their return. Are you traveling out of the country?  We offer a FREE initial consultation at our Travel Health Clinic to gather your travel information (travel dates, itinerary, and basic personal information).   Our Travel Health & Immunizations Clinic is certified by the Georgia Department of Public Health to dispense and administer the yellow fever vaccine (YF-Vax) with the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis as approved by The World Health Organization.  We offer everything from a full comprehensive consultation about your destination, food and water treatment and insect repellent selection to simply getting your immunizations.  We recommend talking to one of our travel health pharmacist at least 6 weeks before you travel.  As much as we would like to assist you in preparation for your travels, we are not staffed to provide these services with less than 6 weeks notice.  After the FREE initial consultation, there is a $100.00 non-refundable fee for the development of a comprehensive individualized plan, coordination with your physician, and vaccine administration. This one time fee should cover all services provided by Village Drug Shop, apart from any vaccines or medications prescribed by your physician (and many of those are covered by your prescription insurance).

Are you are an experienced traveler and/or already know what vaccines and medications you will be needing, we are still here to help.  Just bring us your prescriptions - there is no fee for any oral medications (other than their costs) and a single $25-50 administration fee for any/all shots that are needed.
